La Banquise

Quebec’s staple dish, poutine, has been served at Resto La Banquise since 1968, in all shapes and sizes. The typical version (fries topped with cheese curds and gravy) transforms as bacon, steak, chicken, peppers, mushrooms, onions, sour cream even, is added to the mix.

The 28+ varieties menu brings drunken crowds at 3 in the morning to this Plateau Mont-Royal legend, alas they also serve breakfast and burgers. The bustling restaurant, open 24/7, features microbrewery beers and sodas, but careful, you have to pay pre-food. Because in the wee hours of the night, with a bad case of the munchies, you never know…
